Cherokee Medical Center Congratulates
Patient Choice Award Winner Vicki Garmon – 2009
Cherokee Medical Center is pleased to announce that Vicki Garmon, RN has been selected as the 2009 Patient Choice Award Winner. This award is selected by patients and their family members that have received excellent care here at Cherokee Medical Center. The criteria used to select the recipient are the compassion and quality of care provided to the patient and their loved ones. “Sometimes it is too hard to spot one nurse when there are so many nurses in our hospital that are doing such an incredible job caring for our patients. However, Vicki excels with her levels of compassion and care for her patients. You can observe this in her everyday routine of care.” Says Angela Bennett, Chief Nursing Officer of Cherokee Medical Center.
Vicki Garmon a lifelong resident of Cherokee County graduated from Cherokee County High School and then completed her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Jacksonville State University. Vicki became employed by Cherokee Medical Center in 1980 where she has continued to excel as a nurse and hospital employee receiving several awards such as Employee of the Year in 2006. Vicki is also an active community member Master Gardener with the Etowah County Master Gardener’s Association, Member of the Cherokee Rose Garden Club and is currently dedicating her work to the Ethel Morrison Memorial Park. Vicki is also a member of the Berry Springs- Daughters of the American Revolution.
Vicki and her Husband Mike have been married for 29 years and have two children Bethany 22 years and Hannah 25 years. Along with her family Vicki attends Bothwell United Methodist Church where she is an active Sunday School Teacher.
Vicki was honored at a reception in May of 2009 for her achievement.
